What Is the Liability For A Dog Bite In Florida?

dog bite

Florida law holds the owner of a dog who bites a victim strictly liable for the incident. The safest way to prevent an incident as a dog owner is to place warning signs in a prominent place that are easily legible. If you were bitten by a dog and the owner had a sign, you may still be able to recover for your injuries if, for example, the owner told you to ignore the sign, or if the sign did not strictly comply with Florida law. For more information, see Noble v. Yorke, 490 So. 2d 29 (Fla. 1986) and contact Rosen Injury Law for a consultation.
