Does the Insurance Company Have the Final Verdict After They Deny an Injury Claim in Florida?

A little over a year ago, I got called by a guy who was in a car accident. He was stopped at a light when a pickup truck rear-ended his car. Unfortunately, he ended up having to get surgery for his injuries and a bunch of other treatments. After I got involved, I notified the other person’s insurance company who caused the crash. Despite the other driver’s car crashing into the back of my client’s car, the other person’s insurance company denied the claim. Somehow, they concluded that our client was 100% in the wrong and caused the crash. We made a demand for a fair settlement against the insurance company, and they offered $0. There are a lot of lawyers that drop cases when an insurance company denies liability completely like that. But I decided there was no way I was walking away from that fight. So we filed a lawsuit and began aggressively litigating the case, taking discovery, depositions, and getting the case set for trial. And low and behold, on the eve of trial, the case went from an offer of $0 to a quarter-million dollars and the case settled.
