Why Shouldn’t I Delay Hiring a Personal Injury Attorney?
These are a couple of reasons why it’s important not to delay hiring an attorney if you’ve been hurt in some form of an accident, whether it’s a car accident or some other accident causing injury. Attorneys like me who represent people who have been injured like to collect and preserve evidence quickly after an accident happened and if there’s a delay in hiring the attorney, there’s a chance that evidence may no longer be available because of the time that has passed since the incident. So here’s a couple of perfect examples.
- 911 calls aren’t always kept after 30 days. Those recordings sometimes hold critical evidence about what happened in the accident, witnesses that were there, and reports about injuries that occurred at the scene.
- The next example and I’ve seen this happen before is CCTV footage or video surveillance footage of the incident may no longer be available after a very short period after the incident. So one thing not to do if you’ve been hurt in an accident is to delay hiring an attorney to investigate and represent you in that particular case.
